Hi there! We are Julia Castelló (Barcelona, 1992) and Ali A Maderuelo (València, 1993), a duo of independent curators. We began our collaboration in 2017, which was materialized in 2018 with an exhibition at La Casa Encendida (Madrid), as part of the Inéditos 18 call. Since then, we have curated group or solo exhibitions in galleries and for institutions such as CCCC Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània (València) or IVAM Institut Valencià d’Art Modern (València). In 2021, we were finalists of the Lorenzo Bonaldi per l’Arte – EnterPrize, organized by GAMeC (Bergamo).

In early 2019 we founded A10, a non-profit project-space where we develop curatorial projects that weave networks between the productive fabric of the city and more distant contexts. At the end of 2020, we decided to leave the space that initially hosted us, turn the project around and start working on each action in a specific place. In 2022 we were granted the Ayuda Injuve para la Creación Joven (Ministerio de Derechos Sociales y Agenda 2030, Gobierno de España) to fund A10’s 2023 and 2024 program.

We have been invited to write texts for artists’ exhibitions in different Spanish institutions and, in 2019, we were the guest editors of issue 13 of Concreta magazine, which was raised around contemporary curatorial practice.

We were the coordinators and curators of the program d’Art i Context 2021-2023, a IVAM project that follows the production of six artists of the Valencian context through a program of public activities that culminates in a group exhibition. Our work as coordinators and curators continues in the second edition (Art i Context 2023-2025), whose final show will be on view from mid-2025 to early 2026.

Julia Castelló is a graduate in Art History and in Restoration and Conservation of Cultural Heritage (both from Universitat de Barcelona) and postgraduate in Photography and Art (from Universitat Politècnica de València). Between 2017 and 2021, she worked as Curatorial Assistant and Head of Publications at Bombas Gens Centre d’Art (València). Since 2021, she collaborates with Editorial Concreta as an associate editor and works in the edition of catalogs for centers such as IVAM (València) or Centro Azkuna (Bilbao).

Ali A Maderuelo is a graduate in Audiovisual Communication and a Master in Photography, Art and Technique (both from Universitat Politècnica de València). He develops his work in the fields of art, cultural management and editorial design, having collaborated with institutions such as Bombas Gens Centre d’Art, MuVIM, IVAM. In 2019 he was a member of the curatorial team of the Fotonoviembre Biennial at TEA (Tenerife).
